# Overnight Trading Positions

Some of the trading terminologies can be a bit cryptic when you're new to futures trading. To help you out, let's clarify what an overnight trading position means. Simply put, it’s any open contracts that aren't closed out before the end of a trading day.

We want to ensure your positions are safely put away before calling it a night. So, our policy is straightforward - **make sure to close all your trades by the end of the trading day.**

### How to Manage Open Positions

Remember, it’s your responsibility to review positions before the trading day ends and ensure no contracts remain open overnight.

Failure to observe this rule will result in account deactivation.
{% endhint %}

To help you out, here’s how you can easily keep an eye on your open positions in R|Trader Pro:

1. Start by logging into your Rithmic account using your username and password.
2. Once you're in, head over to the **"Trader's Dashboard"** section on the platform.
3. Next, simply right-click on your account, and you'll have two options: **"View Positions" or "Recent Orders."** Click on "View Positions" to check if you have any open positions before the market closes.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://knowledge.flexytrade.com/flexytrade-help-center/challenge-step/what-are-the-rules-to-follow/overnight-trading-positions.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
